UVFC is a private scholarship and experiential learning experience for university students interested in entrepreneurship and private-finance.

Our goal is to teach entrepreneurship through the lens of venture capital.

Opportunities

Exposure.

Gain exposure to the basics of private finance, from angel and early stage investing, through mergers and acquisitions.

Real Work.

Work on real world projects, performing due diligence, studying markets, and crafting and negotiating deal terms with established funds and investors.

Special Projects.

Help venture-backed companies and regional accelerators with special projects.

Invest.

Make direct investments in start-up companies through the student fund.

 Program Details

  • Weekly staff meetings and seminars with active VCs and entrepreneurs throughout the program.

  • Scholarships provided to students engaged in the program.

  • Dedicated workspace on the Plaza in Kansas City.

  • Access to networking and internship opportunities.

  • Gain exposure to the basics of private finance: from angel and early-stage investing, through mergers and acquisitions.

  • Work on real-world projects, performing due diligence, studying markets, and drafting and negotiating deal terms with established funds and investors.

  • Help venture-backed companies and regional accelerators with special projects make direct investments in start-up companies through the student established UVF Crossroads Fund.

    Note: We will also consider applications from students with strong Greater Kansas City regional ties (whether on the Kansas or Missouri side) who are attending schools outside the region.
