Founded in 2017, the University Venture Fund Crossroads (UVFC) invests in early stage companies with a focus on Midwestern entrepreneurs.
Our team is comprised of students from universities in the greater Kansas City area and is sponsored by Royal Street Ventures, the Kauffman Foundation and other local organizations.
How We Invest
Disruptive Tech
We look for businesses, primarily software-focused, that are tackling big problems across a number of industries. We like capital efficient companies that are creating a positive impact.
Midwest Focused
As a Kansas City-based fund, we prefer investments in the Midwest. We understand the challenges facing traditionally underserved venture markets, and we want to fill that need.
Strong Teams
Starting and running a company is hard – that’s why we bet on talented, driven teams of entrepreneurs that understand what it takes to scale a business.
